Rolodex is a publishing place and archival space dedicated to honouring creative and relational practices. It celebrates the gifts that emerge in collaboration over time, presenting them as a rhythmic editorial presence online. Conceived in 2017 by Ali Van, and now serving as the primary publishing platform of a.f.t. Cooperative, Rolodex invites participants to explore, contribute, and co-create within a space attuned to care, sharing, and reflection.

 

Inspired initially by the physical rolodexes of her mother and grandfather, and later traced through Ali’s experiences with weather, dreams, and sustenance, Rolodex organises intention through time, labor, spirit, movement, and community. Its form is shaped by the inner workings of Ali Van (editorial and curatorial lens), Vic Xu (contextual and digital translation), Miranda ZYVB (conceptual and relational coordination), and Ambika Miglani (foundational coding), with early technical support from Krishna Tech.

 

Rolodex moves like a multibeaming snail; where slow, contemplative attention nurtures growth, where transformation arises through creative discovery, thoughtful critique, joyful resolution, and living flexibility.

 

As a platform for protecting, presenting, and engaging with the languages of others, Rolodex extends the contributions of its collaborators into a shared constellation of people, places, and things. Prompts serve as gentle initiations, inviting participation toward the Rolodex curatorial process, activating the creative playground and analytic space that weaves the grounds for work and creative life.
